If the film has one glaring problem is Logan Lerman performance than D’Artagnan. It takes a certain type of actor to remove the archetype of the deceptively difficult courageous young upstart, and Lerman not control it. It is able to swing a sword, but he is arrogant and rude when he is forced to open his mouth. At one point, Constance described as “a clumsy country boy,” as I had initially misunderstood as something too offensive for a film targeting a young audience.
